Julie Nutting style

I've recently discovered a mixed media artist called Julie Nutting and immediately fell in love with her style of mixed media canvas. I then discovered that she'd written a book "Collage Couture" - thank goodness for Amazon, my purchase arrived about 3 days after I placed my order (not bad!)

I couldn't resist getting started as soon as I received the book - here's my first attempt at a Julie Nutting style canvas. Your thoughts/comments on how it could be improved would be welcome please

    Seriously loving this...love the colour palette you've chosen not sure if you could do any more to improve it though perhaps either a touch more white or black for definition but that might detract from the light airy feel...a little light shading around the body from one side iykwim very inspiring!!! Txx

    That is gorgeous Dee, I love the colours you have chosen! I have another friend who does these and I love all of hers too, really makes me want to make one as I just love the figures :)

    Thanks so much Carin. Does your friend have pics on her blog - I'd love to see hers. I would urge you to have a go, it's such good fun. There are some basic tutorials on Julie Nutting's blog so you don't really need the blog to get started (the book is great for inspiration though). Thank you again.
